Immanuel is one of the oldest churches in Hattiesburg: it has a long history of family ministry, which is evident in our tight-knit community. We are a growing family of people whose lives have been changed by God. We are transformed by hope, joy, and peace. And even then we are all a work in progress. You are invited to join us on the journey.
We are all a work in progress; we seek God together in his Word, in Worship, and through intentional community. We are not a social club, we are family committed to living the life of God together. God is at work in our little family; he is transforming lives, bringing freedom from sin, and leading us to peace. We are intentional about doing the work; we pursue God in his word and in worship together. We study the Bible and pursue lives that reflect its instruction. We care for one other, we strive with one another, and we work towards the hope of eternity together.
The best way to get started at Immanuel is to join us for our corporate worship gathering. That's the time where we all meet together to sing, pray, and hear God's Word. It's a relaxed time where you can dress how you normally dress, slip in the back or sit up front. You can bring your kids; under age 5 can go in childcare, or keep them with you in the service.

God gives us the opportunity to join with him in his mission through prayer, service, and in giving our resources. All we have is given to us by God and a portion of it is returned to him as a tithe. A tithe is the thankful return of blessings to God. It is the relinquishing of control and trusting God to use those resources for His Kingdom. Our church takes these truths seriously and maintains the highest level of accountability and stewardship of God's resources.
Our statement of faith is the current version of the Baptist Faith and Message.
Though the BF&M is our modern confession, we are also aligned with the historic confessions of the church in the Apostolic and Nicene Creeds, along with the London Baptist Confession.
Immanuel is a Southern Baptist Church in partnership with the Mississippi Baptist Convention and the Lamar County Baptist Association. We cooperate with every entity of Southern Baptist life: the International Mission Board, the North American Mission Board, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, and the six Southern Baptist Seminaries.
We are on mission with God in our city and around the world.
We believe God made every person in his image; they are worthy of love and dignity, compassion and care. We believe God loves our city, and has called us to reflect his love through our lives and the ministry of the church. We are always working to show God's love in our community, specifically through service in our local food pantry and events to meet needs of those around us.
Our church has sent missionaries all over the world. We work through our partnerships to intentionally work and share the love of God to people in all nations. We have active partnerships in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the UK.
